1 Hour Timer
Press Start for a 1:00:00 countdown. Browsers slow down background tabs; this timer reads the clock instead of counting ticks, so the hour stays an hour.
Time is up
Keys: Space start/pause · R reset · F full screen · M mute · Esc stop alarm
Good uses for a 1 hour timer
- A deep-work or exam practice hour
- Baking, roasting and slow cooking
- Parking or a booked room (set it a few minutes short)
- Charging, drying or curing something
- A lesson or tutoring session
- A long workout or study session with a break at the end
Tips
- Set it a little shorter than the real limit (for example 55 minutes) when you need time to get back, such as for parking.
- Leave the tab open. Closing the tab or the browser stops the timer.
- On a phone, a locked screen can pause the browser. Keep the screen on for long timers.

Questions and answers
How many minutes and seconds is 1 hour?
60 minutes, or 3,600 seconds.
Can I set 1 hour 30 minutes?
Yes. Set hours to 1 and minutes to 30, then press Start. The timer goes up to 99 hours.
Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. TimerNook works out the time left from your device clock and a fixed end time, not by counting ticks, so a background tab is still right. While a timer runs, the page also plays a tone too quiet to hear, so the browser keeps the tab awake; your browser may show a speaker icon on the tab. If you also tick "Notify me", you get a system notification at the end.
Will the alarm ring if my phone screen locks?
Not always. Phone browsers can pause web pages when the screen locks, and an iPhone on silent can mute browser sound. Keep the screen on; while the timer runs TimerNook asks the browser to keep the screen awake where that is supported. If the page was paused, the alarm rings as soon as you return.
